Product Data Sheet

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Multi-Material Composite Urethane Adhesive DP6310NS is a high-performance, two-part urethane adhesive engineered for durable bonding of composites and dissimilar materials in demanding industrial applications. This non-sag, semi-flexible adhesive delivers excellent strength, impact resistance, and fatigue performance while accommodating thermal expansion and contraction between bonded materials.

Designed specifically for multi-material assemblies, 3M™ DP6310NS bonds a wide range of substrates including composites, plastics, metals, and wood without requiring primer on many surfaces. Its flexible urethane chemistry helps create durable bonds that resist vibration, shock, humidity, and environmental stress, making it ideal for transportation, marine, construction, and specialty vehicle manufacturing applications.

The adhesive features a convenient 1:1 mix ratio with approximately 10 minutes of open time and handling strength achieved in about 45 minutes at room temperature. Its non-sag formulation resists running and slumping on vertical surfaces, allowing for clean, controlled application in both manual and automated dispensing systems. Heat can also be used to accelerate cure times for improved production efficiency.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP6310NS provides excellent water, humidity, and chemical resistance while delivering high energy absorption and stress-strain performance for long-term durability. The adhesive can replace rivets and mechanical fasteners in many composite bonding applications, helping create cleaner aesthetics and fatigue-resistant bond lines.

Common applications include:

  • Composite panel bonding
  • Plastic-to-metal assemblies
  • Transportation and specialty vehicle manufacturing
  • Marine and recreational vehicle assembly
  • Industrial fabrication and equipment assembly
  • Replacing rivets and screws in composite structures
  • Bonding shaped composite and plastic components
