3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP420NS is a high-performance, two-part epoxy structural adhesive engineered to deliver exceptional shear strength, peel strength, and long-term durability in demanding industrial environments. This toughened, non-sag adhesive is designed for applications requiring strong, reliable bonds that can withstand vibration, impact, fatigue, and harsh environmental conditions.
Formulated with a convenient 2:1 mix ratio and approximately 20-minute work life, 3M™ DP420NS provides sufficient open time for positioning and assembly while offering controlled flow characteristics that resist running or slumping on vertical surfaces. The adhesive reaches handling strength in approximately 2 hours and fully cures within 24 hours at room temperature, helping improve manufacturing efficiency without sacrificing bond performance.
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP420NS bonds effectively to a wide variety of substrates including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, composites, ceramics, wood, glass, and many plastics. Its toughened epoxy chemistry maintains bond strength across high and low temperatures and can withstand paint bake cycles up to 400°F (204°C) for up to 60 minutes. The cured adhesive provides excellent environmental resistance and high fatigue durability, making it ideal for structural and semi-structural bonding applications.
The non-sag formulation allows for clean, precise application while helping replace rivets, screws, spot welds, and other mechanical fasteners in many assemblies. Its combination of strength and impact resistance makes it especially valuable in transportation, metalworking, specialty vehicle, and industrial fabrication applications.
