Description
Product Data Sheet
Sikaflex®-255 FC is a high-performance, one-component polyurethane adhesive engineered for direct glazing and structural bonding applications in commercial vehicles and transportation manufacturing. This moisture-curing adhesive delivers high initial strength, durable elasticity, and fast cure performance, making it ideal for bonding mineral glass-based windows and large structural components in demanding assembly environments.
Designed specifically for commercial vehicle glazing and glass replacement applications, Sikaflex®-255 FC bonds effectively to glass, painted metals, composites, sheet metal, and many common transportation substrates. Its high-strength elastic formulation provides excellent gap-filling capability while absorbing vibration, shock, and thermal expansion without compromising bond integrity.
Sikaflex®-255 FC offers a long open time that supports safe and reliable glass installation even in warm production environments. The adhesive develops rapid strength after application, helping reduce assembly times and improve production efficiency in transportation OEM and repair operations. Its non-sag consistency allows clean vertical and horizontal application using manual, pneumatic, electric, or pump dispensing systems.
Once cured, the adhesive forms a durable elastomer resistant to vibration, weathering, fresh water, seawater, diluted acids, and diluted caustic solutions. Its elastic properties help increase torsional stiffness in assembled structures while also providing sound damping and impact resistance for transportation applications exposed to dynamic loads and road vibration.
Sikaflex®-255 FC is compatible with Sika’s black-primerless bonding process and is designed for professional transportation and industrial glazing applications requiring dependable long-term durability and structural performance.
Common applications include:
- Commercial vehicle windshield bonding
- Bus, truck, and rail vehicle glazing
- Transportation OEM assembly
- Vehicle glass replacement
- Structural bonding of large panels and components
- Bonding sheet metal, composites, and glass
- Replacing rivets and mechanical fasteners in select applications
