3M™ Adhesive Sealant 740 UV is a high-performance, single-component silane modified polymer (SMP) sealant designed to provide durable, flexible sealing and bonding in demanding indoor and outdoor environments. This moisture-curing, isocyanate-free sealant delivers excellent UV resistance, long-term elasticity, and reliable adhesion to a wide variety of substrates including metal, plastics, fiberglass, wood, and painted surfaces.
Engineered for transportation, construction, and industrial manufacturing applications, 3M™ Adhesive Sealant 740 UV creates permanently elastic seals that withstand vibration, weather exposure, thermal expansion, and harsh environmental conditions. Its low-modulus formulation helps absorb movement between dissimilar materials while maintaining a durable, weather-resistant bond over time.
The sealant features a fast skin time of approximately 40–60 minutes and can be painted immediately after application for improved appearance and production efficiency. Its low VOC formulation and excellent water, salt spray, and UV resistance make it ideal for exterior applications exposed to the elements.
