SikaLastomer®-65 is a high-performance isobutylene-isoprene copolymer (butyl) sealing tape engineered for superior adhesion, flexibility, and long-term weather resistance in demanding industrial and construction applications. Designed with high rubber content and exceptional surface tack, this permanently elastic tape provides reliable sealing performance across a wide range of substrates without hardening, cracking, or losing adhesion over time.

This versatile butyl tape bonds aggressively to oily and difficult-to-bond surfaces including GALVALUME®, KYNAR 500®, aluminized steel, galvanized metal, aluminum, coated metals, glass, wood, concrete, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), and painted surfaces. Its superior tack allows it to adhere without pre-wiping in many applications, even at temperatures as low as -5°F (-20°C).

SikaLastomer®-65 is specifically designed for applications requiring high tensile strength and exceptional webbing/elongation properties, making it ideal for standing seam roof end laps and other dynamic joints exposed to movement, vibration, and weather. Unlike many general-purpose butyl tapes, it remains soft and pliable in both hot and cold climates while maintaining excellent sealing integrity.

The tape delivers outstanding resistance to water, water vapor, ozonated water, and weather exposure while helping prevent electrolysis between dissimilar metals. It also contains an additive that inhibits microbial growth and is formulated without asbestos fillers for safer handling and long-term performance.
