DOWSIL™ InstantGlaze Window Assembly Sealant is a high-performance, one-component neutral-cure hot-melt silicone sealant engineered specifically for automated window and door manufacturing applications. Designed to meet the demanding requirements of high-speed production environments, this 100% silicone sealant delivers instant green strength that allows assembled windows and doors to be immediately handled and moved without compromising seal integrity or distorting sash components.
Developed for use with high-speed XY glazing equipment and automated dispensing systems, DOWSIL™ InstantGlaze helps manufacturers improve productivity, reduce labor costs, and streamline window assembly operations. The sealant can be applied using standard platen-type hot-melt pumps and automated glazing tables, supporting faster production compared to traditional manual tape glazing methods.
DOWSIL™ InstantGlaze provides excellent adhesion to many common fenestration materials including wood, PVC, aluminum, fiberglass, and glass. Its neutral-cure silicone chemistry creates durable, weather-resistant bonds compatible with most standard and impact-resistant insulating glass systems. Once cured, the sealant forms a flexible silicone rubber that resists UV exposure, moisture, temperature extremes, and long-term environmental aging.
This hot-melt silicone technology combines the immediate handling advantages of hot-melt adhesives with the long-term performance and durability of silicone sealants. Compared to organic hot-melt sealants such as polyurethane and butyl systems, DOWSIL™ InstantGlaze helps improve air and water performance while reducing VOCs, cleanup, and manufacturing waste.
The sealant is typically applied at temperatures around 250°F (120°C), with glass installation recommended within approximately 15 minutes of application to ensure optimal adhesion. Once exposed to atmospheric moisture, the material cures into a flexible, weather-resistant silicone seal suitable for long-term exterior performance.
