BISCO® RS-870 Soft from Rogers Corporation is a premium soft-density closed-cell silicone foam designed to provide reliable sealing, gasketing, and cushioning in a wide range of industrial, commercial, and high-performance environments. This advanced material embodies the transition between soft, highly conformable foams and the firm durability of traditional sponge rubber—offering enhanced sealing without added bulk or stiffness.
With a density of 13.5 lb/ft³ (217 kg/m³) and a compression force deflection range of 2–7 psi, RS-870 is engineered to adapt to irregular surfaces, making it ideal for static sealing applications where low closure force is necessary. Its closed-cell structure minimizes water absorption (<1%) while resisting degradation from UV light, ozone, and extreme temperatures from -55°C to +200°C (-67°F to +392°F).
This material is UL 94 V-0 rated for flame resistance and performs exceptionally well in environments that require low compression set and thermal stability.
