Description
3M™ IS1 Industrial Sealing Tape is a high-performance industrial sealing solution engineered to provide long-lasting protection against water, air, and vapor intrusion. Constructed with a proprietary multi-layer film backing and a specially formulated acrylic adhesive, this tape bonds aggressively to common construction and industrial substrates while maintaining flexibility and toughness.
The non-permeable membrane conforms tightly around screws, nails, rivets, and staples, creating a secure seal that helps prevent leaks and corrosion—even in demanding environments. Unlike many traditional tapes, 3M™ IS1 can be applied in temperatures ranging from 0°F to 150°F and maintains performance across a wide service temperature range.
Designed for versatility, 3M™ IS1 Industrial Sealing Tape adheres well to anodized aluminum, rigid vinyl, plywood, and other surfaces without the need for a primer. It is compatible with most common sealants, including rubberized asphalt, polyurethane, silicone, and hybrid sealants. With UV resistance up to 12 months and excellent puncture and tear resistance, it is well suited for both interior and exterior industrial applications.
Common uses include sealing fasteners on exterior vehicle panels, seaming under roof joints and windows, acting as a gas or fume barrier, sealing HVAC and electrical enclosures, and helping prevent water intrusion on signage.
