SikaLastomer®-90 is a premium isobutylene tripolymer butyl tape engineered for high-performance sealing applications requiring exceptional tack, flexibility, and long-term weather resistance. Designed to bond aggressively to a wide variety of difficult and oily substrates, this permanently elastic tape delivers durable sealing performance without hardening, cracking, or losing adhesion over time.

This high-tack butyl tape adheres effectively to GALVALUME®, KYNAR 500®, ZINCALUME®, galvanized steel, aluminized steel, aluminum, painted metals, glass, wood, concrete, fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP), and similar construction materials. Its superior surface tack allows installation without pre-wiping in many applications, even at temperatures as low as -5°F (-15°C).

SikaLastomer®-90 is specifically designed for applications where superior tensile strength and extensibility are critical in both hot and cold climates. Unlike many general-purpose butyl tapes, it maintains excellent elasticity and sealing integrity under thermal cycling, vibration, movement, and harsh weather exposure. Its permanently tacky formulation helps create watertight seals that resist water, moisture vapor, mildew, and environmental aging.

The tape is formulated without asbestos fillers and includes antimicrobial additives that help inhibit a broad spectrum of microbial growth. It is also paintable, nearly odorless, and non-staining on painted and unpainted surfaces, making it suitable for visible architectural and transportation applications.

SikaLastomer®-90 provides excellent resistance to weathering and electrolysis, making it ideal for sealing between dissimilar metals in exterior environments. Its flexible, non-curing composition also allows components to remain serviceable for maintenance and repair applications.
