Description
Product Data Sheet
Sikaflex®-232 US is a high-performance, one-component polyurethane adhesive sealant engineered for flexible bonding and sealing applications that require high initial green strength. This moisture-curing, non-sag adhesive sealant forms a durable elastomeric bond that resists vibration, movement, and environmental exposure in demanding industrial and transportation environments.
Designed specifically for assembly applications where fast handling strength is critical, Sikaflex®-232 US delivers excellent initial grab to help improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce fixture time during installation. Its stiff, paste-like consistency allows for clean vertical and horizontal application without sagging, making it ideal for production environments requiring reliable bead control and gap-filling performance.
Sikaflex®-232 US bonds effectively to a wide variety of substrates including metals, metal primers, painted surfaces, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), wood, and other common industrial materials. Its flexible polyurethane chemistry helps absorb thermal expansion, vibration, and movement between bonded materials while maintaining long-term adhesion and seal integrity.
The sealant features low odor, non-staining properties, and can be painted or sanded after curing for improved appearance and finishing flexibility. Once cured, Sikaflex®-232 US remains resistant to fresh water, seawater, diluted acids, and diluted caustic solutions while maintaining elasticity across a service temperature range from -40°F to 194°F (-40°C to 90°C).
With approximately 35 minutes of skin time and strong gap-filling capability, Sikaflex®-232 US supports both bonding and sealing applications in transportation, industrial assembly, and HVAC fabrication. Its excellent sag resistance and durable elastomeric performance make it especially effective for applications exposed to movement, shock, and environmental stress.
Common applications include:
- Trailer and RV assembly
- HVAC equipment fabrication
- Industrial bonding and sealing
- Interior and exterior seam sealing
- FRP panel bonding
- Metal-to-metal and metal-to-wood bonding
- General transportation and equipment assembly applications
