Product Data Sheet
DOWSIL™ 732 Multi-Purpose Sealant is a high-performance, one-component RTV silicone adhesive sealant engineered for reliable sealing, bonding, and gasketing across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. This acetoxy-cure silicone forms a durable, flexible rubber seal when exposed to atmospheric moisture, providing long-term resistance to weather, vibration, moisture, and temperature extremes.
Designed for general-purpose industrial use, DOWSIL™ 732 adheres well to glass, metals, ceramics, painted surfaces, and many engineering plastics without the need for primers on many substrates. Its non-sag paste consistency allows for easy vertical and overhead application while maintaining clean bead lines and controlled placement during assembly and sealing operations.
Once cured, the sealant remains flexible and durable across a broad operating temperature range from -76°F to 356°F (-60°C to 180°C), with short-term temperature resistance up to 401°F (205°C). The black formulation can withstand even higher intermittent temperatures. Its excellent dielectric properties also make it suitable for electrical insulation and electronic sealing applications.
DOWSIL™ 732 skins over in approximately 7 minutes and becomes tack-free in about 20 minutes, helping improve production efficiency and reducing assembly downtime. The cured silicone offers excellent elongation and flexibility, allowing it to absorb movement, thermal expansion, and vibration without cracking or losing adhesion.
Common applications include:
- General industrial sealing and bonding
- Form-in-place gasketing
- HVAC and appliance assembly
- Electrical insulation and sealing
- Glass and metal bonding
- Automotive and transportation maintenance
- Sealing joints exposed to moisture and temperature fluctuations
