Description

3M™ VHB™ Tape Max-230GF is a double-sided, gray acrylic foam tape with a thickness of 2.3 mm (0.090 in) and a firm foam core, offering maximum strength and design flexibility for demanding bonding applications. Part of the 3M™ VHB™ Max Series, Max-230GF delivers 2–3 times the tensile and shear strength of standard VHB™ tapes, making it ideal for replacing mechanical fasteners like screws, rivets, and welds in both interior and exterior environments.

Designed to bond to a variety of high surface energy (HSE) and medium surface energy (MSE) substrates—such as metal, glass, painted surfaces, and certain plastics—this pressure-sensitive adhesive provides instant handling strength and creates a water-, dust-, and debris-tight seal. It withstands short-term temperatures up to 356°F and offers reliable long-term bonding at 250°F, making it suitable for outdoor exposure, thermal cycling, and vibration-intensive environments.

Key Features and Benefits of 3M™ VHB™ Tape Max-230GF:

  • Ultra-high tensile and shear strength—2–3x stronger than traditional VHB™ tapes
  • Firm 2.3 mm acrylic foam core—supports heavy-duty loads and improves stress distribution
  • Fast initial tack—bonds on contact, improving throughput
  • Replaces mechanical fasteners—eliminates drilling and welding
  • Creates weather-resistant, watertight seals
  • Maintains bond in extreme conditions:
